Project RF-0032: Building a home for Lê Văn Tuấn Family

Mr. Lê Văn Tuấn (50) and his wife, Mrs. Le Thi Ha (35) are living in Vinh Loc commune, Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province, Vietnam. They have two daughters (8 and 6), one of which has finished grade 1 and the younger one is going to pre-school.
Mr. Lê Văn Tuấn receive the land from his father on which he then built their current home. As the water of the river in front of their house rises during heavy rain season, their house becomes flooded as it is below the edge of the river. The walls and ceiling are in poor condition and the clay floor becomes wet and slippery from leaking rain into their home.
The husband and wife met in a factory, where both were employed 5 years ago. They married and returned to hometown.
Mr. Lê Văn Tuấn is a casual laborer and works when there is work opportunity for him. Hence, their income fluctuates. Daily wage of a casual laborer is between 120,000đ – 200,000đ per day (AUD 8.00 – 13.00 per day). Mrs. Le Thi Ha looks after their children at home.
