Each year, Rima Foundation is dedicated to supporting 50 students in Vietnam, who face financial hardships that hinder their ability to continue their education. Every year, many Vietnamese children drop out of school unwillingly to join the workforce and help support their families. Despite the Vietnamese government’s subsidies for education, families are still burdened with out-of-pocket expenses such as school maintenance fees, health insurance, books, and uniforms, which cost approximately $200 per year.
To break the cycle of poverty and provide these children with an opportunity to thrive academically, the Rima Foundation offers scholarships to financially disadvantaged students. These scholarships are awarded to those who demonstrate good to excellent academic performance. By evaluating both financial need and academic achievement, the foundation ensures that assistance is directed to the students who will benefit most.
The scholarship program covers essential school expenses, including the school fee, health insurance, books, and two sets of uniforms. For students who have no means of commuting to school, the foundation also provides bicycles to facilitate their transportation.
This year, Rima Foundation supported 49 high-performing students from various districts (Phuoc Long, Bac Lieu city, Hoa Binh, and Vinh Loi) of Bac Lieu province in Vietnam.
By encouraging academic excellence and providing financial support, Rima Foundation is empowering students to pursue their education, break free from poverty, and build a brighter future.
