The livelihood the family is from a small-scale frog breeding production. The family has 3 children (1 son and twin daughters). All children attend school.
Their basic breeding is setup in the front yard of their house. It consists of 7 basic ponds, with which they breed 3000 tadpoles and sell 6 weeks after being hatched.
Their self-made 7 ponds have a total volume of 21 m3 and made with low quality plastic liners, which have to be replaced every 3 months. Due to the ponds being exposed to sun many tadpoles and baby frogs die within that 6-week cycle. The current breeding yield is about 70%.
Rima Foundation assisted the family by building 7 new breeding ponds with high quality lining and shades for protecting the tadpoles and baby frogs from the sun. The new ponds have a total capacity of 35m3, which enables the family to breed more frogs. The expected yield of the new setup would be approx. 95% and 65% increase to breeding capacity.
