Mrs. Trúc My and her family are currently residing in a very small self-made shelter in Hoa Binh district of Bac Lieu province-Vietnam on public land with very poor basic amenities.
Mrs. Trúc My earns a small amount of income by making and selling banana cakes. Her husband supplements the family income by fishing overnight on the beach to catch few fish to sell and/or as food for the family.
Rima Foundation has provided a full setup of a sugar cane juice stand. This is a significant development because it offers a new potential income stream for the family. Sugar cane juice is a common and popular beverage in Vietnam. Due to low availability of this beverage in the area, where Mrs. Trúc My lives, a full sugar cane juice setup can be profitable for the family and bring some relief to their financial struggle.
Rima Foundation Limited supplied a sugar cane juice stand with 1000 cups, Lids, Straws, Bags, and an Icebox.
They will continue with the selling their home-made banana cake and fishing activities. Overall, while their situation is challenging, the provision of the sugar cane juice stand by RFL represents a positive step toward improving their economic situation and can help them gradually improve their quality of life and provide better opportunities for their children.
